Analysis released today by the Bureau of Communications, Arts and Regional Research (BCARR) shows Australians are continuing to subscribe to subscription video on demand (SVOD) services, like Stan, Netflix and Amazon Prime in record numbers.
Over 70 per cent of Australians are now accessing SVOD services. Netflix remains the most popular platform, with over 13 million accessing the service by June 2020.
SVOD services continue to expand their service offerings, with over 29,500 titles available in June 2020.
These services are also helping to take Australian content to the global stage with around 10,000 instances of Australian shows on international SVOD platforms in June 2020.
The chart pack is expected to be updated over the next two years to help identify trends in SVOD content and take up within Australia.
