Programs open to help cities and suburbs thrive

Two Australian Government infrastructure programs have opened to applications, with available funding totalling $500 million to be invested in cities and suburbs across Australia.

The $350 million Thriving Suburbs Program is now open for applications, and will fund community infrastructure across our capital cities, suburban and peri-urban communities, such as libraries, parks, and sporting and cultural facilities

The Thriving Suburbs Program complements the Growing Regions Program, which opened in July 2023 to support the delivery of community infrastructure projects across regional, rural and remote Australia.

The $150 million urban Precincts and Partnerships Program (uPPP) is also open for applications and will provide funding for the design and delivery of urban precincts.

The program will bring together governments, communities and businesses through collaboration and joint investment to deliver precincts that build better cities and more liveable suburbs.

The uPPP complements the regional Precincts and Partnerships Program, which opened in August 2023 to support the delivery of precincts in regional, rural and remote Australia.
