Funding now available to improve regional mobile telecommunications coverage in target locations

Applications for Stage 2 of the Improving Mobile Coverage Round are now open, with grant funding available to improve mobile coverage and quality of service in two target locations.

Up to $3.05 million will be available under Stage 2 of the Improving Mobile Coverage Round (IMCR) of the Mobile Black Spot Program.

IMCR Stage 2 will provide funding to Mobile Network Operators and Infrastructure Providers to deliver new handheld coverage to two target locations of Majors Creek and Mangrove Mountain in NSW. The new funding offers the opportunity to improve coverage, and address the quality of service.

This investment complements the government's commitment to improve regional communications through its $1.1 billion Better Connectivity Plan for Regional and Rural Australia.
