Disabled Driver Test Procedures

Summary

The purpose of the project was to document and evaluate current Australian practice in the assessment of drivers with disabilities. This was achieved by means of: a survey of everyone trained in one of the two Australian courses for occupational therapists in driver assessment and rehabilitation; detailed personal interviews in each Australian state and territory with people, mostly occupational therapists, known to be active in driver assessment; obtaining information from the licensing authorities of each state and territory concerning their practices in relation to the assessment of drivers with disabilities; a review of published literature concerned with the documentation, evaluation and development if such assessment practices.
