October 2022-23 Federal Budget released

The October 2022-23 Budget is supporting Australians through infrastructure, regional development, communications and arts funding.

The October 2022-23 Budget has been released, delivering funding for a range of infrastructure, regional development, communications and arts measures.

These include:

  • $55 billion to continue building essential road and rail infrastructure over the next four years
  • $1 billion for new regional programs
  • $2 billion for vital Northern Australia infrastructure
  • $1.5 billion to support critical freight links
  • $2.4 billion for a faster and more reliable NBN
  • $1.1 billion to improve telecommunications in rural and regional Australia, including $656 million in new funding in this Budget
  • $31 million to support local news and community broadcasting
  • $6 million to help schools keep children safe online
  • $19.5 million to support the arts, entertainment and cultural sector
