We are updating Australia’s classification framework for today’s digital media environment.
The Government has released a discussion paper on the review of Australia's classification regulation framework.
Our current classification framework was established back in 1995 in the age of dial-up internet. It is timely to review and update it given the way we access movies, TV shows and games has changed dramatically since then.
We are seeking your views to help inform a new framework that meets the needs of industry, while continuing to provide important information and protections for Australians.
You can have your say on the new framework by making a submission from now until Wednesday, 19 February 2020, 5.00pm.
The review is being led by Mr Neville Stevens AO and is part of the Government's response to the ACCC Digital Platforms Inquiry.
