Parking Infringement Notices Scheme (PINS)

The Department regulates landside vehicle parking and traffic enforcement (known as PINS) at participating airports. Currently, this includes Brisbane, Gold Coast, Hobart, Launceston, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney, and Townsville airports.

PINS is administered under the Airports (Control of On-Airport Activities) Regulations 1997, pursuant to section 172 of the Airports Act 1996.

Liquor licensing regime

Introduction

The Department regulates the sale and supply of liquor at leased federal airports within New South Wales through the Airports (Control of On-Airport Activities) Regulations 1997 (the regulations). These regulations are made pursuant to section 170 of the Airports Act 1996 and currently apply to Sydney (Kingsford-Smith), Bankstown and Camden airports.

Q: What measures exist to protect the environment at leased federal airports?

A: The Airports Act 1996 provides a system for regulating the Commonwealth's 22 leased federal airports. This includes regulating environmental management at 20 of the Airports. The Airports Act also provides that for each of the 20 core and prescribed airports there is to be a final Master Plan that includes an airport environment strategy approved by the responsible Minister.
