Federal Interstate Registration Scheme closure

When is FIRS closing?

From 1 July 2019, FIRS closed to new entrants, renewals and to all operators.

Between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2019 inclusive, upon expiry heavy vehicles registered under FIRS were required to move to an alternative registration scheme. All FIRS registrations are now invalid.
