Statement of Expectations for the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission

On 9 October 2020, the Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP, made a Statement of Expectations in relation to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's (ACCC) telecommunications functions and powers.

The Statement of Expectations is in line with the Australian Government's response to the final report of the review of the Australian Communications and Media Authority.

The Statement sets out the Government's expectations of the ACCC regarding its key relationships, accountabilities and operational priorities relating to its telecommunications-related functions. It complements the Government's general Statement of Expectations, which is available on the Treasury website.

The ACCC has responded to the Statement of Expectations with a Statement of Intent.
