New Road Vehicle Standards laws commence

Today marks the start of a new era for road vehicle regulation when the Road Vehicle Standards (RVS) laws replace the existing Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989 (MVSA).

The new RVS laws represent the biggest overhaul of road vehicle regulation in over 30 years.

Under this new legislation, Australians can be confident that all road vehicles provided to our market for the first time meet our safety, security and environmental requirements.
