Your feedback will guide the development of the final Transport and Infrastructure Net Zero Roadmap and Action Plan
We have published a Transport and Infrastructure Net Zero Consultation Roadmap (the roadmap), which sets out potential decarbonisation pathways for all four transport modes and infrastructure across our transport systems.
Transport is currently the third-largest source of greenhouse gas emissions in Australia, amounting to 21% of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions in 2023. Without further action, transport will be the largest source of emissions in Australia by 2030.
We are calling for feedback on the roadmap to guide the development of the final Transport and Infrastructure Net Zero Roadmap and Action Plan (the action plan), which will set out the pathways and actions for transport to play its part in achieving economy wide net zero.
Have your say on the roadmap and provide any feedback by 26/07/2024.
The government is developing a broader Net Zero 2050 plan across key sectors of the economy, including electricity, industry, resources, and agriculture. This will ensure Australia maximises the benefits of the global transition to a net zero economy.
