International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has 193 Member States and is the international aviation agency of the United Nations. ICAO has five comprehensive strategic objectives to enhance global aviation safety, increase the capacity and improve the efficiency of air navigation, enhance global civil aviation security, minimise the adverse environmental effects of civil aviation and foster the development of a sound and economically viable civil aviation system.
Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program
ICAO assesses member States' capability to provide effective safety oversight of its aviation sector through its Universal Safety Oversight Audit Program (USOAP). The program features a Continuous Monitoring Approach, which allows ICAO to monitor and prioritise oversight activities based on risk. APEC Transportation Working Group
Australia is working through the Transportation Working Group (TPTWG) of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to advance transport services in our region. We want to enhance the safety of APEC Transport Systems to encourage economic development in the Asia-Pacific region.
