Australia’s cities are some of the most liveable in the world and around three quarters of our population live in Australia’s 21 largest cities. Our cities generate around 80% of GDP and are gateways to the global economy. The work you undertake will help to create productive, liveable cities that encourage innovation, support growth and create jobs.
Priorities include:
- Preparing City Deals which bring together 3 levels of government and the community to work towards a shared vision for productive and liveable cities. City Deals are focused on aligning planning, investment and governance to accelerate growth and job creation, stimulate urban renewal and drive economic reforms.
- Implementing the Townsville City Deal which includes the $293.5 million North Queensland Stadium and the $232 million Port of Townsville channel widening project.
- Providing advice on major projects across Australia, through undertaking detailed project reviews on benefits, commercial and delivery models, and funding and financing opportunities.
- Providing advice on and oversight of the implementation of the 38 Western Sydney City Deal commitments.
