Having your say on Norfolk Island passenger air service needs

Over the past few weeks we have been collecting valuable information from air service users through a passenger survey, to ensure we are best meeting the current and future aviation needs of Norfolk residents, businesses and tourists.

With the current short-term contract for air services expiring in June 2022, we have been gathering critical data on the passenger needs and requirements of local businesses and the community to help support planning for the procurement of our next aviation partner.

The response we have had from the community and visitors has been extremely positive, with 535 completed surveys both online and in hard-copy helping inform the next stage of air service delivery to Norfolk Island.

I would like to thank everyone who took the time to respond to the survey, as your input and experiences are vital to supporting the best outcomes for the community.

We are currently analysing the data we received to inform the tender package for the air services procurement.

I will keep you informed on the next steps in the tender process in the coming weeks.

With COVID-19 continuing to create significant challenges for the global aviation sector, including Norfolk Island, our Government remains committed to the continuity of reliable passenger and freight air services over the coming months and years.
