Fatal Heavy Vehicle Crashes Australia is a quarterly bulletin presenting recent data on fatal road crashes involving heavy vehicles as well as historical comparisons. It is produced using data supplied by the eight states and territories.
Key figures
In Australia during the 12 months to the end of September 2007, there were:
- 161 deaths from crashes involving articulated trucks, down 10.1 per cent on the previous 12 months
- 64 deaths from crashes involving heavy rigid trucksa
- 24 deaths from crashes involving buses, up 50.0 per cent on the previous 12 months.
