Over $288,000 in federal funding to flow to remote, rural and regional communities

Thirty-four projects will share in over $288,000 in federal funding through the second round of the Strengthening Rural Communities – Rebuilding Regional Communities (RRC) program.

Under the program, community groups and not-for-profit organisations receive micro-grants of up to $10,000, or larger grants of up to $50,000, to deliver initiatives that benefit regional, rural and remote areas recovering from the impacts of COVID-19.

Funding recipients under this RRC round include ‘(It’s no) drama’, a community group that will reduce social isolation for Victorians in South Gippsland, and the Atherton Performing Arts group, to improve public safety at the Atherton theatre in Queensland.

The Australian Government has committed $5 million from 2022 to 2024 to the RRC stream, partnering with Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) to deliver the program.
