Part X (International Liner Shipping)
The Department is responsible for the regulation of international liner shipping of cargo, particularly as it relates to Part X of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010. These provisions contribute to ensuring that exporters have continued access to frequent and reliable liner cargo shipping services at internationally competitive freight rates.
Regulator Performance Framework
The Australian Government is committed to reducing the cost of unnecessary or inefficient regulation imposed on individuals, business and community organisation.
A Regulator Performance Framework was developed in late 2014 to support Australian Government regulators to measure and improve their performance.
The Department has undertaken an assessment of achievement against the Regulator Performance Framework indicators. See the following assessment report for Shipping Tax Incentives.
