Draft Regulation Impact Statement for the Improved Protection of Vehicle Occupants in Side Impact Crashes
The Australian Government is examining the case for regulating the pole side impact (PSI) performance of light passenger vehicles and light commercial vehicles through the Australian Design Rules for Motor Vehicles and Trailers (ADRs). The Department is inviting public comment, on a draft Regulation Impact Statement (RIS) that considers the case for regulating PSI performance, by close of business 31 July 2015.

Heavy Vehicle Braking Systems—Survey of Reliability and Effectiveness
As part of the National Heavy Vehicle Braking Strategy (NHVBS), the Department is studying the effectiveness of advanced braking systems. The Department is seeking feedback from heavy vehicle operators and maintenance providers of all sizes, fleet composition and location, irrespective if they have advanced braking systems or not.
Strengthening US-Bound Air Cargo Security
The Department is seeking feedback and views from industry groups and businesses to inform the ongoing development and future implementation of Australia's strategy to meet US requirements for US-bound air cargo security. The next round of consultation will take place in mid-August.
