How We Recruit
The selection processes in the Department may vary and in some circumstances interviews may not occur. Selection may be based entirely on written applications and referee reports.
The Department aims to hold any further assessment, such as interviews or work sample tests, as soon as is conveniently possible after the closing date. Only short listed applicants will be contacted at this stage.
If you are asked to provide written referee reports, please give your referees a copy of the Referee Kit which includes the Rating Scale against which they can evaluate you. Please only provide written referee reports if requested to do so.
The Department aims to ensure that fair, equitable and non-discriminatory consideration is given to applicants. If you need assistance at an interview in regard to access, an interpreter or another service, please discuss this with the contact officer prior to the interview or speak to our Disability Contact Officer on 02 6274 6161. Applicants with speech-impairment may wish to use the relay services of the Australian Communication Exchange.
After the Selection
All applicants will be advised by email of the outcome of the selection exercise. Please ensure we always have your current email address in the myRecruitment system. If you wish to receive feedback on your application or have questions on the process, please contact the Chair of the selection committee.
Applicants are advised that all jobs with the Department require a minimum of a Baseline Security Clearance. Successful applicants will need to obtain and maintain a security clearance at an appropriate level.
Security clearance forms will be sent to all successful candidates with their proposed letter of offer. Successful candidates will not be provided with their formal letter of offer until their security clearance has been granted.
