Guide to this report

What this Report Covers

This annual report explains how the resources entrusted to the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development have been used during the year. It:

  • takes into account Resource Management Guide No. 135, annual reports for non-corporate Commonwealth entities, issued by the Department of Finance in July 2016, and
  • uses data, photographs and other materials from a range of sources to put our activities and results into context.

As this report contains photos, it may contain images of deceased persons and of places that could cause sorrow.

How Information is Presented

Key terms and acronyms are explained as they are introduced, and are listed at the back of this report.

Tables throughout the report use notations as follows:

  • $m means million dollars
  • – means either zero or nil, and
  • n/a means not applicable.

Amounts are generally rounded to $100,000 in chapters 3 to 7, and to $1,000 in the appendices, and financial statements. All totals are the rounded sum of unrounded amounts and therefore may not be the strict sum of the figures presented.

All financial amounts are GST exclusive except where noted.
